Officials, umpires and markers, are a vital and valued component of our sport, particularly at a higher level of competition. They ensure that bowlers enjoy their match and that it is played both according to the rules and in the right spirit. As an official, you get the ‘best seat in the house’ and a rewarded by being part of creating a memorable experience for players and supporters.

The Uganda Bowls Umpires Association (UBUA) is the body which recruits, develops and manages officiating in lawn bowls. Uganda Bowls works closely and financially supports the UBUA to ensure our sport has an appropriate level of qualified umpires, particularly to ensure national competitions can take place effectively. For more details on UBUA, including information on membership and training opportunities for officials, please contact us.
